The RRM branch has been merged to the ACME master. Please see the updated 'how-to' document: How to run the regionally refined model (RRM)
Please follow the steps below when wanting to run the regionally refined model (RRM) CONUS grid in ACME.
Step-by-step guide
Check-out the ACME's RRM branch:
- Checkout the tangq/cam/RRM branch - see Development Quick Start for details
Create and build a new case from the scripts directory:
- Suggested syntax:
$ ./create_newcase -case $CASENAME -compset FC5 -mach (your-machine-name-here) -res conusx4v1_conusx4v1 - Edit env_mach_pes.xml as needed. For Redsky, using 200 cores and 1 thread for each component runs at 0.25 simulated years per day.
- Edit env_run.xml as needed to specify the run-length.
- set EPS_AAREA equal to 9.0e-06
(or else you might see the error: "incompatible domain grid coordinate")
- set EPS_AAREA equal to 9.0e-06
- Set-up and build the case.
$ ./cesm_setup
$ ./$CASENAME.build
(When building a case for the first time, the script will look for the boundary and initial condition files which are located on the ACME data server. See /wiki/spaces/WORKFLOW/pages/7998629.) - Edit the namelist files (i.e., user_nl_cam) for user-specified output settings.
- Run your $CASENAME!
