Performance Test 1

Performance Test 1:

...

Increase in run time for Linoz v2 at 2 degrees

Date last modified:

Contributors: Philip Cameron-Smith (Unlicensed)(add your name to this list if it does not appear)

Provenance:

...

Branch cameronsmith1/atm/Ozone-hole-Linoz-v2 from v0.3-212-gadbcc2b (simulations around Sept 5, 2015)

Results: (link to results, data and plots)

How was XXX be tested? i.e. how do we know when we have met requirement XXX. Will these unit tests be included in the ongoing going forward?

Model cost for 2 degree FV ACMEv0.3 simulations on Titan with 560 PEs (x=pe-hrs/simulated_year):

MAM3                                                  mean(x) = 2333.83,   stddev(x) = 51.1981,   stderr(x) = 9.05064     ( 32 simulations of 4 months each)

MAM3 with Linoz                                 mean(x) = 2367.33,   stddev(x) = 40.3739,   stderr(x) = 12.1732     ( 11 simulations of 4 months each)     (+1.4% +/- 0.5% relative to MAM3)

MAM3 with Linoz and extra output      mean(x) = 2388.38,   stddev(x) = 43.6466,   stderr(x) = 13.16         ( 11 simulations of 4 months each)     (+2.3% +/- 0.6% relative to MAM3)

The extra cost of Linoz (1.4% +/- 0.5%) is in line with the expected cost of an extra tracer for FV.
